The Spider- an example of our doubt in God's plan
During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for
him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.
As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen." After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one." Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.
As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave. "Hah, he thought. "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor." As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To hisa mazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.
"Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in you a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall." We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways. And remember with God, a mere spider's web becomes a brick wall of protection.

thanks for the email. it helped me. (:
when we face times of great trouble, it is so easy to forget what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways.
i shall try harder to commit everything into God's hands since God has His own perfect timing and His own plan for each and everyone of us.
im sure i will still worry and stuff, but i believe i can overcome all obstacles! yeah.
and i will emerge from this stronger spiritually.

i realised i cant stand reading some blogs.
1. bitchy/bimbotic blogs. people who bitch about others and about their shopping trips and all their branded items. shudders. the kind where you look and can tell straightaway what kind of person they are.
2. meaningless blogs. people who blog about their "interesting" lives and trying to impress people by how cool it is or how boring it is.
3. vulgar blogs. people who swear and curse every 2 sentences because they either think it's cool or it's a habit and they cant be bothered to change it.
4. ahlian blogs. p30pl3 whO +ypE lIk3 tHIs @nd thiNk thiS is c0ol @Nd r3alLy h!p anD cOoL. [i spent a really long time typing that. how time-consuming. >.<] i like blogs which 1. have meanings. i click the x button thinking "hey, i learnt something from that entry."
2. share their views and i go away from the blog knowing yet another view point.
3. are truthful. people who stay true to themselves.

listening to the i not stupid theme song. thanks again chloe for sending it to me! i like the song a lot. (: but then as i was listening to it, i felt that there was one main thing portrayed incorrectly in the movie.
are parents to blame for everything?
you may say that since your parents brought you into this world, they have the responsiblity to look after you and take care of your welfare emotionally and materialistically. but what makes you think that they are not trying to fulfill their responsiblities? what makes you think that they are not trying their best to give you a better life? what makes you think that they are not doing all that they are doing now just for you?
they work very hard just to earn money so that you are able to buy what you want. and are they wrong to do that? sure, maybe they focused too much on your materialistic needs, but can you blame them for that? they dont know every thought that goes through your mind. but can you blame them for that? they dont know what you really want. but can you blame them for that? they dont know that they should be focusing more on your emotional needs etc. but can you blame them for that?
they scold you. they force you to study. but what's the reason behind that? because they want you to have bright future, because they want to see your career take of. which parent doesnt want the best for their child? which parent doesnt want their child to grow up to be independent and to lead a good life? or to put it in another way. which parent enjoys scolding their child? which parent enjoys forcing their child to study? as cliched as it sounds, all parents want the best for their child. but in the process of wanting the best for their child. what do they get in return? they get their hearts broken. and think, is it worth it? it is not. but do they stop caring about you? no. it's not worth it but they still love you. they still care about you wholeheartedly. and you do not reciprocate their love. not only do you not reciprocate their love, but you hurt them time and time again.
you say that they dont understand you. but do you understand them? you say that you are hurt when they scold you. but do you feel their hurt when they scold you? you say that they dont have enough time for you. but do you have time for them when they squeeze out time just to spend time with you?
compare what they have done for you and what you have done for them.
for me, what ive done is 0% compared to what they have done for me. actually it may even go to the negatives. ive not done anything for them these 13+ coming to 14 years that they have brought me up. i have shouted at them, i have disobeyed them, i have made sarcastic remarks, i complain about them. especially when i was in p6 and sec1, whatever they told me not to do, i would do, i did not care what they said. but what right do/did i have to shout at them, to disobey them, to make sarcastic remarks, to complain about them? but this year i guess ive been better. ive been more tolerant etc. but still, the number of times ive yelled at them. it's uncountable.
and no matter what i do, it is never enough to repay them.
think about it. they have spent _ years [depending on how old you are] taking care of you and watching you grow up. they have given their all just to see you grow up. and then you turn around and blame them.
tell me.
is it fair?
but of course there are exceptions. whereby the parents abuse their children for no rhyme or reason.
